Cookie Policy
The short version
We keep this site simple. We do not use advertising cookies, advertising trackers or third-party analytics services.
The site uses a small amount of storage in your browser to remember your choices and, where permitted, to help us understand how people use the website. Our server also keeps short-lived technical logs.
This page explains what is stored or accessed, why we use it and how you can control it.
Cookies, and other storage technologies
A cookie is a small piece of information that a website stores in your browser.
Websites can also use other technologies to store or access information on your device. These include local storage and session storage.
The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations ("PECR") apply to cookies and these other storage and access technologies. Where PECR requires consent, we will obtain it before using the relevant technology. Some uses are exempt where they meet one of the exceptions in PECR.

We do not use these technologies to build advertising profiles or track you across other websites.
Our server log
Separately from storage on your device, our web server may keep a short technical log of requests made to the website.
This may include information such as the time of the request, the page requested, the referring page and technical information sent by your browser.
We use these logs for website security, troubleshooting and to understand how the site is being used. They are kept for 90 days and then deleted or overwritten in the normal course of our logging system.
We do not use these logs to build advertising profiles or to track people across websites.
Consent and analytics
We do not currently use advertising or marketing storage and access technologies.
Our website analytics are designed to produce aggregate statistics about use of the site, such as which pages are visited and how visitors move through the website. We do not use this information to identify individual visitors or to follow them across other websites.
Where the analytics technology meets the statistical purposes exception under PECR, we do not need to obtain consent before using it. We will still explain how it works and provide a simple and free way to object.
If we introduce analytics or another technology that does not fall within a PECR exception, we will obtain the required consent before using it.
Do Not Track
Where our analytics system can detect a browser's Do Not Track setting, we will treat it as a request not to use the analytics technology.
This is an additional preference and does not affect strictly necessary storage and access technologies.
How your choice is recorded
Where we ask for consent to use a storage or access technology, the consent mechanism records the choice needed to remember that decision.
We aim to keep this information on your device rather than sending it to us where that is technically possible.
Where we use a consent mechanism that stores a choice on your device, the information may include the categories you selected, the date of your choice and the version of the consent mechanism.
We will ask for a new choice where this is required because our use of storage and access technologies changes materially.
Changing your mind
You can control storage and access technologies in several ways:
- Use the site's privacy or cookie settings to change any choices that we ask you to make
- Clear site data for atlas-learning.co.uk in your browser settings
- Use your browser's private or incognito mode
- Configure your browser to block storage for this website
Blocking or clearing storage may mean that the site cannot remember your previous choices and may ask you again.
Your browser also provides controls for managing cookies and other stored information. The exact settings vary between browsers and devices.
Third parties
We do not currently use third-party advertising networks, social media pixels, session-recording services, heatmaps or third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics.
The website's analytics are part of our own CMS and are not provided by an external analytics company.
If we add a third-party service that stores or accesses information on your device, or receives information from the website, we will update this policy and explain what the service does and what choices you have.
